However,As a professional billiard cue manufacturer,Selecting the right materials is an important step.It is also the key to the stability of the products.Today,I’d like to share with you how our Obright factory selects maple wood.
First,when the raw Canadian maple enter the factory,Our professional materials selectors conduct a rough selection of the the wood using both machines and their eyes.Divide the wood into approximately three grade :A,B,C.Grade A has no flaws at all,The color is fair,the wood grain is clear,and present bird-eye pattern,The picture shows the top A-level selection,It is very suitable for making handcraft cue. Grade B maple have minor flaws and are not noticeable unless you pay close attention.They are suitable for moderately priced,bulk-ordered pool cue.It is also the materials we commonly use for shipping to merchants.The quality is stable and the price is affordable.The remaining part will be classified as grade C,We usually use for public cue and membership cue.The defect is quite obvious,but it doesn’t affect the use at all.
After grading the wood into different levels and being placed for several months,The material selector will inspect the wood to see if it has deformed or bent.Select the maple wood that has a slight curvature.This process was repeated nearly ten times.As long as the wood does not change,we can define this as being stable.
